How to Love Your Pregnant Body

blairwolfe95

When your body goes through a huge change like pregnancy, it's hard to recognize your body.

As a first time mother we are thrown into a vast new world that is unrecognizable to us. We have so many bodily changes. We are told that we are very blessed, which of course we are. Babies are a beautiful blessing. We are told that we are growing a mircacle. Which, of course, is also true. We want so desperately to love our bodies throughout pregnancy, but the truth is - most of us don't. At least that is a true statement for me.

“...and she loved a little boy very very much, even more than she loved herself” -Shel Silverstein

We hear comments like, "Wow, you're huge." All. The. Time. It's not just our bellies growing. It's our thighs, back fat, arms, you name it. I'm not writing this post to make anyone feel worse about themselves, but it's nice to know that some people can relate.

Love that bump girl!

Just know, that when you don't like your ever changing body. You are not alone. It does get better. The baby that you are growing is the most important thing. You may not know it yet, but your baby will change your perspective on everything. Loving your body during pregnancy is no easy task, but mama buy yourself a maternity dress that fits well and makes you feel good. Do your hair and makeup. Step out into the world and glow. You have earned it. Your body will go back to normal. Much quicker than you would think. As a mom you learn to truly love someone else more than you could ever imagine.

During my pregnancy, I was super self conscious. Looking back now, I miss that little bump. I think they are so cute, and when styled right, they are a fashion statement. Enjoy your bump, dress her up. It's only temporary. Embrace your body that is bringing in new life. I promise it is worth it.
